What is Hormonal Imbalance
Hormonal imbalance occurs whenever the levels of oestrogen and progesterone in the female body are not equal or even. The lack of ovulation is one of the important factors which can contribute to this imbalance. Females usually produce only oestrogen for about twelve days from the beginning of their cycle while progesterone gets produced only once ovulation happens.

The levels of these two hormones then decrease when fertilization does not occur and menstruation starts. However, there are cases wherein ovulation does not take place. So the body only has oestrogen while there is almost no progesterone present. This then leads to a hormonal imbalance. Some of the symptoms of this condition are depression, fatigue, headaches, anxiety, and weight gain. Other more severe symptoms are osteoporosis, urinary infections, and fibrocystic breasts.
